My current research is on ethics and aesthetics of urban nature, and I am a co-editor of the newly launched Philosophy of the City Journal. I was a visiting research fellow at Wolfson College Oxford in the Spring of 2023, and a visiting postdoctoral fellow at University of Parma in Autumn of 2017. I was a junior fellow at the Walter Benjamin Kolleg in 2018 and at the Collegium Helveticum in 2021-2022.
My essay “Aesthetics and the Inner Life” was awarded the Elisabeth and Werner Leinfellner Prize, and “Of Beetles and Roubles: Wittgenstein and Dostoevsky on Intention” was shortlisted for the British Society of Aesthetics Essay Prize. My research has been generously supported by the SNSF, the Holcim Foundation, the Janggen-Pöhn Foundation and others.
I have also managed a neighbourhood development project in Basel, Breite for the cantonal urban development office, and I am a member of the Strategy Commission at the D-GESS, ETH Zurich.
